Watch Out Tonight: Seattle's Finest Are On Alert

Are your tastes a bit less classy than an after-hours visit to SAM's Gates of Paradise exhibit? Tempted by a bit of the underworld, are you? Thinking of heading down to Pioneer Square for the Mardi Gras revelry? Have some beads you'd like to trade for a glimpse of flesh? All we can say is: the man is expecting you.

We remember what happened seven years ago, when poor Kristopher Kime got himself beaten to death on the street while cops stood by and did nothing. Not taking any chances tonight, those coppers. They've pulled their fearsome mobile command units up to the fire hydrants at First and Yesler, ready to do battle.

Were we still able to leave anonymous comments, I would have quoted NWA in this space. Barring that, I welcome our new civilian army-type officers! Perhaps next they'll move a few blocks North to Steinbreuk Park and mobiley command the horde of drug dealers.

On Cornichon.org, the post is titled "Seattle's Finest Can Park Wherever They Want"

  • Should they be parked in front of that hydrant? In a bus zone, no less.

The point, however inelegantly made, was that Kime was killed while the police stood by, under orders not to interfere.

Please. Klime did not "get himself" killed. Someone killed him. Using the passive voice makes it sound like it's all his fault. And I know you don't wanna blame the victim.
