Get Out Saturday: Mono in VCF at the Triple Door
Not so long ago, wandering the halls of a local music venue, we noticed a cool-looking poster for a band called Mono in VCF. Strange name, we thought.
Some nights later, making dinner at home. Kind of half-listening to KEXP when a song came on that sounded at once old and new. We turned the volume up and listened as an arresting female voice pleaded with us to "run fast, escape..." as a troupe of violins and pianos swayed and pendulated to a lazy beat.
A-ha, we said aloud after finding the band with the strange name in the station's online playlist. (This is why we l-o-v-e KEXP).
Ten greenbacks later, we were listening to the downloaded version of their spankin new self-titled debut album. We likey.
Because the touchable, huggable version of Mono in VCF's debut is out today, the band celebrates in style this Saturday night with a seven-piece band at the Triple Door.
This will sell out folks.
