Ignore Good Advice and Go See Liars Anyway

Some comments from Jack's October post about the Liars/Interpol show:

"The Liars were the worst band I've ever seen." - courtneyj

"The Liars were a horrible assault on my senses. I'm all for experimental but it's a fine line between avant-garde and just plain annoying." - MSandison

Not entirely encouraging words, but we don't care. Liars' eponymous 2007 album was our introduction to the band (and made our list of best releases of the year), and the album's brash art-rock got our toes tapping on too many occasions for us to miss seeing them live. We're hoping they've improved in the months since their last visit. We just want to hear "Plaster Casts of Everything" live. That song is pure rock and roll magic. Don't believe us? Here's the video:

Don't worry, if they suck, we'll let you know (courtneyj and MSandison can then chime with an "I told you so" or two).

Liars play tonight at the Showbow at the Market. $15. All Ages. No Age and Past Lives open. Doors 8pm.
