Oregon Mayor Posed in Underwear, Tells Naysayers to "Get Over It"

Arlington, OR [via KOMO] - Residents of this tiny town on the Columbia River are in an uproar over photos posted on mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist's MySpace page.

The photos show the mayor in nothing but her bra and panties. On a firetruck.

The mayor has commented that she doesn't feel she's done anything wrong, but some residents strongly disagree.

"I think it's disgusting," said local woman, Prickly Ironbox. "A woman's underthings should never be seen. Especially not on public stuff like a firetruck." Blushing, Ironbox added, "Though, I do like those firemen calendars. Never buy them, of course, but they help to kill time when I'm picking up my prescriptions at the Walgreens."

The photos of Kontur-Gronquist were reportedly taken before she became mayor and her MySpace page is only visable to MySpace Tom and her nine other friends, but that's not good enough for local man, Rusty Spitoon.

"I knew this would happen with a woman mayor," Spitoon said. "Get a gal near a firetruck and she can't help but take her clothes off." Spitoon then added, "By the way, do you have those photos handy? She changed her MySpace settings and doesn't seem to want anymore friends."

Side note: The "controversy" is already noted on the town's Wikipedia page. Oh no!
