So Much For a Raucous Caucus--Clinton Campaign in Freefall

We Washingtonians don't get our chance to caucus until February 9th, and it was always unlikely that the Democratic nomination was going to be in doubt by then.

It's getting more and more unlikely by the day. Barack Obama, who trailed Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire by twenty percentage points in November, now leads her by 7-10 points, depending on which poll you believe.

Ex-KUOWer John Moe writes on his blog Monkey Disaster: "This whole Clinton campaign is beginning to feel just a bit like one of those casino shows by a band that should have broken up a while ago." As evidence, he provides a clip of Bill Clinton sticking his foot in his mouth this morning:

It's hatched a possible campaign slogan idea from Seattlest David: "Clinton '08: If You Want a President." Yikes.

The Republican race doesn't have a clear favorite yet, as John McCain, who didn't campaign in Iowa, is leading in New Hampshire, and Mike Huckabee, who won Iowa, will struggle to outpoll Ron Paul. Will one party, at least, hold out until we get our say?
