When the Rain Ain't a Pain

rainy.jpgExpect the national TV broadcasters to rain clichés on the constant grey that is Seattle this weekend as the Seahawks host the Sean Taylor Memorial Experience at Qwest Field.

It’s one thing to rip on Seattle’s weather from a heated broadcast booth, it’s another thing to have the stomach to actually handle it day in and day out.

"I like the cold. I don't mind the rain. There's a certain hardness to it," Kerney said. "I think it's part of what visiting teams feel and don't like about Seattle."

Kerney knows something about toughness, the first year Seahawk is among NFL leaders in sacks with 14.5 heading into the playoffs this weekend.

It’s nice to see a professional athlete at the top of their game embracing the inclimate grey of Seattle as opposed to fleeing for sunnier skies and a bigger market like A-Rod, Randy Johnson and Joey Galloway all did. (All seduced by the cheery warmth of sunny Texas.)

Contact sports and bad weather are a beautiful thing, fortunately for us Kerney gets it.
