Every Day Is Bring Your Fork to Work Day at WaMu

Zoka We knew WaMu had run into some fiscal turbulence (and some legal headaches). We imagine money's tight.

But we can't believe it's come to this.

A customer service employee says a memo went out that WaMu is "going to stop providing us plastic cutlery, hot chocolate, creamer, and anything but regular tea."

Granted, it's environmentally friendlier to use real cutlery instead of plastic, but when that teller's smile wavers as they enumerate the benefits of WaMu Free Checking, bear in mind they're working in a Darjeeling-free workplace and cut 'em a little slack.

Starbucks, on the other hand, is ecstatic at the prospect of mocha- and Tazo-craving WaMu-ians stopping by nearby stores more frequently.

ha. dell has been doing this for years.

no cups, no forks, no condiments near the drink machines. NOTHING.

  • An anonymous source in the home loans department emailed this comment:

I had to laugh because it was just a couple of days ago that the President of Home Loans sent all home loans employees an email telling us that instead of sending the top 100 sales people to Atlantis in Paradise Island for a week long pat on the back, the bank has decided to send the top 200.

What is that costing the share holders? They’re paying for it aren’t they?
