A few years ago, Garrett Lunceford (formerly of The Divorce & Acceptance, currently of Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground & Wild Orchid Children & like 10 other bands) came into the video store I was working at and asked if we were hiring.

It was kind of a downer. I warned him that the owner wasn't big on hiring musicians, we chatted for a few minutes, and he left without taking an application.

Rachel from Visqueen sold me CDs at Sonic Boom a few years ago. Counter to your experience, it was awesome.

The other day I was buying Dina Martina tickets, and when I gave my last name, the ticket guy on the phone was like, "First name Katelyn? Do you write for Seattlest? Do you know Larry Mizell?" and I thought, woah! I'm FAMOUS! I said yes, and he said "This is Larry." ... So I'm not famous. I just know one person, and he happens to work at the ticket place sometimes.
