This morning's commute is pretty bad, but as this rain is expected to last well into the evening, by then Duck Tour may be the only way to navigate the city.
Already (as of 8:35 am):
--Amtrak service between Eugene and Vancouver, B.C. is suspended because of mudslides.
--Sounder service was also cancelled.
--Most highways and roads on the coast are closed.
--Stevens Pass is closed.
--Westlake Ave. in Seattle is blocked between Galer and Fremont because of a mudslide.
--There's a huge sinkhole at the entrance to Golden Gardens at 85th St. NW.
UPDATE (10:35 AM):
--KIRO meteorologist Monty Webb calls this the worst storm in 10-15 years.
--The Seattle Times says we're close to breaking our rainfall/hour record!
--The forecast calls for high winds that haven't hit yet. Damp ground and wind makes trees fall down.
--The city of Seattle has opened its emergency operations center.
--North Creek Business Park in Bothell is being evacuated due to high floodwaters.
--In Renton, an estimated 300 yards of mud slid onto Jones Road at 196th Ave SE.
--Thornton Creek in Lake City is flooding at Meadowbrook Pond.
--Waves as high as 70 feet are reported off the North Oregon coast, and, says KOMO, "the weather buoy off the Columbia Bar become ripped from its tether and is now adrift in the Pacific."
We'll update this, and if you hear of anything else, please put it in the comments.

Friendly Folk-Pop for the Kids: Hey Marseilles at Vera This Saturday

Having just arrived in Portland OR after driving from Marysville WA (left around 5:15 am arrived around 9am) I'd say the worst weather I experienced was actually south of Olympia. It appeared to have been raining there a lot longer as pretty much everywhere looked flooded and the winds were much stronger. I'm not really sure which way all the weather is moving so it could have gotten (or will get) much worse if it heads north.
About 15 minutes ago, I looked up from my computer to see our local park's resident seagulls out for a swim. But there's no pool or lake in our park--our park has flooded enough to become it's own little lake, which hasn't ever happened while we've been living here. I dropped a few pics in the Seattlest pool.
