Hurry! There's Still Time To Become Editor Of Grist

Are you a seasoned editor with online media know-how, management experience, a passion for the news, and an appreciation for life's absurdities? If so, Grist may be the place for you.... Grist.org is the country’s leading online source of environmental news and analysis, reporting daily on the events, issues, people, and trends that affect our planet. We shape the nation’s conversation around all things green, educating, informing, inspiring -- and eliciting guffaws -- from our audience of nearly one million.
They've been advertising on CL for a month, but they just posted again today, which may be bad news for any of you who applied earlier. We only bring it up because we're surprised they didn't vanish under a double-hulled tanker's worth of applications from Northwestern greenies after the first post.

confederate3.gifWhile we're finding you writerly folk some jobs, why don't some of you look into the Puget Sound Business Journal: they've got two staff openings: the banking, residential real estate and economy beat and sports, retailing and marketing and media.

Seattle Gay News is looking for a staff writer, too.

Maybe you'd like to write for a food and travel blog, Vezeo. How about writing about books, at Shelfari?

Lastly, one of you editor-types -- how would you be interested in helming the coyly-described Niche Market Publication?

Um, we're looking for neighborhood bloggers at MyZip.net

BTW, I interviewed for a role at Grist way back when and they HATED me. Jeesh, do a little time in the MSFT fields and everybody thinks you're a sellout or something...

Don't let the bastards grind ya down, j! Microblogging well is the best revenge.

Grist has been looking for an Executive Editor for at least two months now, if not longer.

I've noticed that over the past few years that they start looking for a new Executive Editor every 6 months to a year or so. My guess is that it is a hellish job and word to that affect has gotten around. Now I think they're just not getting the kind of applications they want.

Yeah, Charles, it just occurred to me that earlier posts would have expired off CL. I *thought* they'd been advertising for longer.

I'm always a little dubious of green/sustainable orgs that can't manage staff sustainability, like burnout is an okay result if you're working for good. Doesn't seem like they have fully grasped the concept.
