"Get a Q13 Add-On and Aim Toward Bremerton"

You Seattle old-timers will remember that KCPQ-13 reception was once very hit-or-miss. Wasn't bothersome in the 80s since the station's schedule was mostly old, bad movies. But in the first years of their Fox affiliation, it could be quite vexing fiddling with your antenna as The Simpsons faded in and out.

Here's some helpful 80s'-looking KCPQ promo guy to help. And, after the jump, a bunch more old Seattle TV vidcaps.

Larry Rice could've stood to buy a bigger shirt. KIRO's TV news open, 1987. Also shows Paul Brendle, KIRO's daredevil helicopter pilot/reporter, who crashed his copter three separate times. Brendle committed suicide in 2002.

Steve Raible on sports! A 1985 story on Seahawks fullback Dan Doornink, including a sweet touchdown call by legendary announcer Pete Gross.

A classic--go to the 1:30 mark to see J.P. Patches vandalize Harry Wappler's weatherboard.

I *still* have trouble with Q13. But thankfully, they've started streaming House, MD, from the fox.com site.
