Get Out Monday: The Forms @ the Funhouse

It's been a while since we've heard from The Forms. The Brooklyn four-piece put out their debut album Icarus in 2003 to widespread acclaim, with the Steve Albini-produced work earning an 8.5 from Pitchfork for its "wiry, punchy, indie pop with refreshingly un-hackneyed time-signature games and judiciously placed dissonant chords."

And then? Nothing. Till this year, when their cover of "Ignoreland" was included in Stereogum’s fifteenth anniversary tribute to R.E.M.’s Automatic For The People, and last month, their long-awaited sophomore release (also helmed by Albini) finally hit the stores. The almighty Pitchfork hasn't yet weighed in, but the new album picks up where Icarus left off, with more post-rock minus all the math bullshit and plus some bona fide melodies. The Forms bring their ear-ringing live show to Seattle at the Funhouse on Monday.

Above is footage of the band playing cousin Austinist's SXSW show earlier this year. Whether or not you can make the show Monday night, you can still get your hands on their second full-length. Seattlest has one copy of the Forms' new self-titled album. Just fill out the form below for your chance to win. No worries: Your info is safe with us and will not be shared with advertisers and/or the government, yadda yadda yadda. We'll be drawing one winner Monday at noon.
