Get Out Friday: Grayskul @ Chop Suey

Grayskul's coming home to the 206, and Seattlest will be there to welcome them at their concert on Friday night. We have been thoroughly enjoying Grayskul's 2007 release, Bloody Radio, since it came out in September; the first single from the record, "Scarecrow," is catchy as hell. Grayskul's music is a richly melodic, edgy journey through the weird and the relevant; listen here, and don't miss Grayskul's older stuff, especially from Deadlivers. We recommend "Prom Quiz," if you're only got a few minutes.

Other performers at the Chop Suey show: Hangar 18, also filthily catchy; Glue, with intense and straight-forwardly awesome Midwest sound; Grieves (back to the 206 here! Seattlest's been meaning to catch this guy); and opening for the openers, clear and trippy Xperience out of our own Olympia, WA.

All in all, this should be a rich, imaginative, and dare we say, revelatory Seattle hiphop show. Sweet. Check out Grayskul's Scarecrow video courtesy of Youtube, below.

Friday, Nov. 16. Doors at 8pm; 21+, $10.

Commenting on my own post. Awesome. But, I just found this article calling Grayskul "goth-hop"... And I thought that was funny. And fun. I wish I'd thought of it.
