Weekend Music
We've already mentioned this weekend's Pyramid Alehouse Snowed In Party, featuring the Presidents of the USA (tonight) and the Dandy Warhols (tomorrow). Tonight, there's also Black Dice bringing their wall o' noise to the Vera Project.
A lot of shows tomorrow night, starting with MTV-buzzworthy Minus the Bear, along with Helio Sequence and Grand Archives, at the Showbox. There's also Seattlest's favorite kick-ass female foursome the Trucks at the High Dive, and the lush pop-folk of AM at the Tractor.
Raleigh, NC six-piece Annuals will also be performing tomorrow at the Croc with labelmates Manchester Orchestra. The two have been covering each others' songs (mp3s here) to be sold as an split 7-inch exclusively at their shows. Here's tour footage for the latter, who are neither from Manchester nor an orchestra.
Magnet was going to be at Chop Suey on Sunday, but he's no longer on the bill, so the Panda Band is now headlining. That leaves you with a couple options: Local rock quartet The Protocol celebrate the release of their second album Recess (the first for upstart label Parlor Records) at the High Dive, while at the Tractor, there's singer-songwriter George Stanford, a former trombone player who gets comparisons as varied as Paul Simon and Chris Martin.
