Stalk of the Town: Nov. 9 – 11

sunsetmarket.jpg The glorious fall sunsets have disappeared along with the mouldering husks of Halloween pumpkins, and according the weather report, we can all expect a long, cold, wet weekend. But this being the Northwest, that's never stopped us from getting out and about; here's the weekend plans of your intrepid Seattlest contributors:

By the time this hits the digital newsstands, Jeremy is going to be on his way to Fadó for post-work cocktails; after that it's off to the Sunset Tavern to see The Purrs, then resting up for The Dandy Warhols on Saturday down at Pyramid's "Get Snowed In."

Ronald, who's lived in Seattle long enough to remember when the Rainier Valley was known as Garlic Gulch (because only Italians ate garlic, right?), plans to check out the Garlic Festival Gala on Saturday night at Lombardi's, a neighborhood Italian joint that's been operating behind enemy lines in Ballard--Lutefisk Land!--for the past 20 years.

If the Sonics finally get their first win of the season tonight, Seth will be on hand to see it. From the looks of the Sonics Ticket Marketplace, he may be the only one.

Tonight will involve drinks at one of Audrey's favorite happy hour haunts, while tomorrow she'll be feasting on a steak at El Gaucho. Sunday will assuredly include recovering from the requisite fine-dining hangover.

With a busy holiday season coming up, Geoff is going to spend some quality time with his girlfriend on Whidbey Island. They'll be stopping at Deception Pass and staying in Coupeville for the night. Hopefully, they'll get some quality Penn Cove mussels at Christopher's. They also plan on hitting a couple outstanding brewpubs, Flyer's and Diamond Knot, as well as visiting Whidbey Island Winery, which they know nothing about.

Tonight, Clint's headed to Nectar to catch the second-best thing to ever come out of Tucson, Arizona, Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers. (First-best? His lady-friend.) Tomorrow night it's back to Fremont for Hale's before scooting back over the bridge.

It's all techno all the time for Donte, who's spending Friday night at this month's Broken Disco, and Saturday night at Krakt for techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson.

It's impossible not to have a good time at a Presidents of the United States of America show. Now throw in a winter warmer like Snow Cap Ale and Jack might have a hard time getting up tomorrow morning. But get up he must! It's his birthday, so he and Mrs. Seattlest are heading down to Portland for a night at Jupiter Hotel, a show at Doug Fir Lounge, and a book-buying binge at Powell's.

Tonight, Tera is headed to a college-buddy reunion (again?) at Taphouse where she will spend most of her time deciding between IPA or Scotch Ale on its menu of more than 140 beers. Saturday, Sunday, eh, who knows.

It’s time for Kim’s annual jazz fix, so her and the lady are heading to Jazz Alley tonight to catch the Bob James Quartet. Tomorrow night will start with an early show at the Tractor watching Bob Schneider folk it up. Then it’s over to Samadhi Yoga on Capitol Hill for a Yoga Behind Bars benefit.

Rachael will be having her first taste of Crush tonight. Tomorrow she's teaching a pie class and refitting all of her lamps with higher wattage bulbs. Sunday she'll be remaking this bread.
