Seattlest’s City Council Endorsements

28262-VoteOrDie.jpgWhen we sat down to do our endorsements we reached a disturbing conclusion. We cannot, in good conscience, vote for anyone.

Position 1
Jean Godden: Wrote for the Seattle Times when it endorsed Bush in 2000.

Joe Szwaja: Involved in a 1990 domestic dispute in which his then-girlfriend threw a bottle at him and he threw a plate at her.

Position 3
Bruce Harrell: Doesn't spend enough time with his 15-year-old son from a previous marriage. Linebacker for the 1977 Husky football team, which didn't make a bowl game.

Venus Velazquez: After a few drinks, drove 50mph down a city street on a rainy night, even though she admits to being a shitty driver.

Position 7
Tim Burgess: His advertising firm once wrote letters for an anti-abortion/anti gay rights group.

David Della: Once worked for the United Way of King County, which funded a subsidiary of the Boy Scouts of America, an organization that excludes gay males.

Position 9
Sally Clark: Has intentionally subverted the city's economy by participating in the Seattle-to-Portland bike ride twice. What's wrong with riding around Green Lake 62 times?

Judy Fenton: We are still recovering from our nasty break-up.

Today is the last day to send in your ballots, the polls are open until 8pm, and in case you missed it here is how we are voting on Prop 1.
