Reason #1 To Not Leave Beer In Your Car

You thought your beer was safe left in the back seat of your car? Think again.

We got this email from our friend today:

So yesterday I was driving home from Vancouver. Per Geoff's recommendation, I stopped at Bounday Bay's taphouse for a few beers. When I left I bought a growler of IPA. I was happy.

When I got home, I parked outside and forgot to bring in my bookbag (worthless) and my growler (priceless). When I went to my car this morning I discovered that my back driver's side window was bashed in. Someone broke into my car and rather than taking, say, the $300 navy sports coat or opening my trunk to steal an array of various things, the only thing that this douche bag stole was my growler of beer and my book bag. I was sad. A cop showed up and wrote a report stating that clothes, a bag, and a gallon of beer were stolen. His recommendation: "Don't leave beer in plain sight in your car."

So there's the luck o' the Nolley. Homeless people even steal my beer. I checked with my insurance, and I can't make a claim. I would have been better off if the person had just stolen the car.

Our first question to him: "So, you're going back to Bellingham to get another growler of that IPA, right?"

If anyone sees a guy walking around Belltown drinking a growler of Boundary Bay, let us know...

A friend of mine used to carry a bunch of boomerangs around in the backseat of his car. One night his Subaru was broken into and nothing was taken, although the smashed window ended up costing him. During our investigation into what would lead someone to break into a rundown car filled with dirty clothes and fast food bags, we realized that he kept the boomerangs in a cloth bag with a $ sign on the side of it. That's probably almost as enticing as a Boundry Bay growler.

This story had me at the edge of my seat, expecting an entirely different outcome. See, Boundary Bay uses those TERRIBLE growlers with the white caps that leak like a sieve if they tip over. Just be thankful Mr. Bum got to your growler before you peeled away the next morning to work and having your forgotten growler go all over the back seat, and avoiding an awkward explanation for the police.

And also rest easy, since there's no way Mr. Bum took down the growler in one sitting (Boundary IPA is not Hurricane High Gravity, after all) and had to set it down next to his cardboard box and bed roll, assuredly having it spill amidst his night terrors.

Might not be a bum...years ago in Queen Anne- the blob was still there so it was some time ago, this drunk had stolen booze from Larry's and ran up the hill on Olympic then just climbed in someone's car yaked in the backseat and curled up in the front and passed out. He broke a window to get in...
Car Violence happens in Seattle-
I mean that football "star" bashed up The Wild Salmon Seafood truck real bad and he wasn't homeless....anyone who ever went to Wild Salmon loves it because they have the freshest and best prices, but still nice people get their windows smashed in Seattle. Capitol Hill eastside is super known for this...

Am I the only one here who wants to know how the fuck you forgot you had a WHOLE GALLON OF BEER IN YOUR CAR? Seriously, I would not have been able to go to sleep that night because eventually I would have heard it mewing from the back seat: "Come get me, come drink me!" Over and over.
