This Friday and Saturday, for the eleventh year running, the Pyramid Alehouse will host the "Get Snowed In Party" in celebration of Pyramid's flagship winter ale, Snow Cap.
Snow Cap turns 21 this year, and in honor of this ale finally coming of age, ticket prices for each night of the event are only $21. Hosted in a frosty cold revival tent behind Pyramid Alehouse, last year the two-night party was fantastic: beer gardens, hot food and a bunch of chummy snowboarders and beer-lovers rocking out to the music of Built to Spill and Matt Costa. This year, the line-up features Seattle hometown favorites the Presidents of the United States of America on Friday and Portland's The Dandy Warhols on Saturday.
So what makes Snow Cap (currently available on tap and by the bottle all around town) so special? Seattlest Geoff, our resident beer expert, has this to say about Snow Cap Ale:
Snow Cap is definitely one of my favorite beers from Pyramid. As a winter warmer should be, it is very malt forward with tastes of caramel, dark fruit, toasted malt and a little bit of an alcohol bite. It's lightly balanced with hops and is quite smooth and drinkable; perfect for a pint after a day on the slopes.
A special note: dress warm. Last year it was seriously chilly in that tent, and even colder outside. The multi-colored ear-flapped stocking caps everywhere aren't just a snowboarder fashion statement.
Pyramid Breweries' "Get Snowed In Party" // Fri. & Sat. Nov. 9 & 10 // tix $21 advance (Fri.; Sat.) // doors @ 7, bands @ 9, 21+

So does the $21 come with any free or discounted beer? Seems awfully expensive considering this is kind of a promotional event for Pyramid's beer, and there's only one band - which you get the honor of watching outside in the freezing cold ;) (the Presidents *are* good though).
