Jerry Cantrell's Threads = Your Next Halloween Costume

So that paper Clay Bennett mask didn't score you the costume-contest office pool? Your Lewinsky dress was irredeemably soiled? It's not too early to think Haloween '08. And we've got the coolest outfit idea for you: Jerry Cantrell. The Alice in Chains guitarist/singer will even trade you his threads for a charity donation.

Starting November 5 (and going through 11/26), Cantrell's auctioning off some of "his favorite clothes from key moments in his career" to benefit both the Layne Staley Fund and Musicares. The clothes he's offering are labeled "Casual Jerry" (tees) and "Rock Show Jerry" (leather pants!). Win a couple of these items, pick up a long, straight-haired wig, throw up the devil horns and you're an iconic Seattle rock star.

Sadly, Cantrell's vest and hat from that historic set aren't included in the lot. We think we'd kill in them.

We're actually not sure which "key moments" he sported these items during, but maybe Cantrell will share the anecdotes with auction winners. And let them know if the threads have seen a washing machine since. (Stale sweatstink and/or DNA would only augment your costume's authenticity.)

If you hate Halloween, there are other fine reasons to check out these auctions. Raiding Jerry Cantrell's closet could get someone off of heroin and keep them clean. And it could score you your very own groupies.
