Get Out With Kids: Justin Roberts

Justin RobertsLike our high school hero Dan Zanes, we prefer to share "all ages" music with our toddler instead of mind-numbing "children's music." While we are not bumpin' to tales of Jay-Z's unfortunate experiences with his lady friends in various high-priced vehicles, neither are we interested in musical lessons on counting, going potty, and naps.

And just taking kids-themed music and applying the trappings of an edgier genre doesn't fool us.

That's why we're hoping the sniffles our sweet moppet has been sniffling today don't take their usual course before Saturday. We want to see Justin Roberts.

Roberts' "Brontosaurus Got a Sweet Tooth" had been requested so many times from the carseat, that we recently pretended our mini-me's ipod mini had deleted it on its own. A couple of weeks later it popped up on a shuffle before we could skip it and...we realized that we had been missing it. Call it a form of kids' music Stockholm Syndrome, but this silly song about a love-sick dinosaur brightened up our rainy morning drop-off trip.

Justin Roberts & Not Ready for Naptime Players will be at The Moore this Saturday at 11am. Doors open at 10.
