Get Out Friday: "Lost in Translation" with Mike Daisey
The Hugo House Literary Series kicks off Friday night with "Lost in Translation," and the program features Seattlest-favorite and monologist Mike Daisey, novelist Randall Keenan and historian Lesley Hazleton.
We don't know why Seattle ever lets Daisey leave, once we've got him here. He's ours! We should just band him or do that thing like with dogs where they are electronically forbidden to leave the yard.
Daisey, et al, have each produced three new pieces on the "Lost in Translation" theme -- the Seattle P-I runs it down for you:
There will be Mike Daisey's recent impressions of standing at ground zero in Los Alamos, N.M. There will be Randall Keenan's description of eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes coming to a fictional small town in North Carolina. And there will be Lesley Hazleton's references to what happened in seventh-century Iraq. Also, singer/songwriter Devin Sullivan will play some new songs between each talk. Then on Saturday, all the participants will hang out at Hugo House for panels and classes -- that starts at 10:30am. Here's the Seattle Times article on the whole series.
7:30pm // Hugo House // Single tickets $15-25 SOLD OUT -- Passes for the full series are still available
