I do understand your hesitation after seeing Than being called the King, but hope you don't let that hold you back from attending. (there are plenty of other players in the real estate industry that call themselves "The King" and other such nonsense, but it's just marketing. The event should be worth your time. One thing you did fail to mention is that the event is sponsored by the Real Estate Investors Association (http://www.reiawa.com ) which is a fairly new group in the area. From the past two events that I've attended, I've found that it is a fantastic group of people and I've made good contacts and learned something at each event. Anyone with an interest in real estate should consider becoming a member. It's inexpensive, and once you are a member, the monthly events are FREE.

I know Kimberly Rider, who guests on HGTV's Curb Appeal, is a working designer. That's why she's a guest, I think -- she prefers actually *being* an interior designer to playing one on TV.
