Weekend Music
Tonight there's Reverbfest, which looks cool and totally has a solid schedule of local bands, but it's all the way in Ballard, so Seattlest has opted for the equally strong line-up at Chop Suey of BOAT, Fleet Foxes, and Sea Wolf. We do so love a good cello.
Saturday Built to Spill closes out their three-night stand at the Showbox. From a show earlier this week, here's footage of one of our favorite BTS songs, "Made-Up Dreams," off of the epic Perfect from Now On. The less said about their latest tracks, the better.
See why Sunday the best night for music this week after the jump.
Surprisingly, the bulk of great music this weekend falls on Sunday night. Thus, the dilemma: get a good night's sleep for the work week, or choose between---
a) the lulling acoustic guitars and sweet covers of Swedish crooner Jose Gonzalez at the Showbox,
b) Foreign Born, who get comparisons to Snow Patrol, and Datarock, who get comparisons to, um, Norwegian Devo-leaning disco? at Chop Suey,
or c) the haunting songcraft of Nina Nastasia and Jim White at the Tractor.
Decisions, decisions.
