When I went on Saturday, there were pretzels located at the booths where you could purchase additional tokens. They were yummy, large soft and squishy with plenty of mustard to douse on them...

Yeah....I couldn't even get myself to go... Decided hiking was a better option than heading there to drink beer. Sounds like I made the right decision. No pretzels...that's just funny. For the record, I loved the St. Edwards fest as well. But, the whole having to drive to an Oktoberfest thing really isn't a good idea. It would have been a 2 hour bus ride for us. Clint - That baritone player was awesome. Early on Saturday, he scared a woman so badly she fell out of her chair and it broke....

Large Hoegaarden's are the BEST! Something about a big ass heavy glass filled with the unfiltered nectar of the gods ... mmmm! makes me feel like a man.

Yeah, you did miss the better O-fest. Sounds like it, anyway. I decided to skip Fremont's fest after last year's overcrowded event. The only bad thing about St. Edwards' fest: The roving baritone player blasting his instrument into the ears of unsuspecting drinkers. Bastard made me lose a couple ounces of beer.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm glad I went to the St. Edwards one, and not this one. While there were not streamers and unison drunken reveling on Friday afternoon/evening in Kenmore, it was a rather Oktoberfest-esque time. Polka bands, braughts, pretzels with 3 type of mustard(!), and many Oktoberfest and Belgian-style beers. Next Oktoberfest stop, Yokohama, Japan's Oktoberfest on Oct. 7!

Dude, that's "VICTORY" not "Victoria"... And they make some crazy stuff. I love their Golden Monkey ale. (kinda surprised they were there...all the way from Philly)

No pretzels?????? No oompah??????? Dogs?????? Just call it Fall Hipster-fest and drop the pretense. The reall Oktoberfest happened at St. Edwards, that was actually family friendly, LOTS of good brew, and LOTS fewer 30-something frat boys.
