I think Locker is somewhere between Seth's appraisal and the guest above's. He has a rocket arm, and clearly can put the ball in tight spaces, but he also tends to overthrow (as young QB's with powerful arms often do). Also, I agree with the assessment of the receiving corps, ie not much there. He is quite fast and a bull in the open field, but Im guessing the bumps and bruises he is feeling today may entice him to stay in the pocket more often in the future....

Seth,

Isaiah Stanback couldn't pass. Locker can pass. He just had a rough second half. He had some sparkling passes in the first half -- timing routes he zipped into coverage on a dime. To say "he can't pass" is a gross exaggeration. Also, keep in mind he isn't blessed with a very good receiving corps. Reece is a monster the 25% of the time he catches the ball but other than him, Locker doesn't have very many options.

The second half was heartbreaking. The defense should be commended - they played tough against a talented offense. It was a joy to see my man Kyle Trew dominate during the first half.

On to UCLA!
