Who's the 'Bad Neighbor' Here?

Is it the bad neighbor, or the other neighbor who defaces that guy's signs? Does anyone know who or what's behind this masking tape take down?

Liberty is, to put it in the succinct word of one of my friends, "douchy." It smells like varnish, the drinks are weak and overpriced, the music is bad, and the food is blech.

And it's Dan Savage's favorite bar. Need I say more?

Stumptown is local. They are currently building-out a roastery/cafe on 12th and a cafe on Pine.

  • Portland is practically local and stumptown is some damn good bean, but seriously, that sign is tacky and ugly.

As a coffee shop on 15th, you should not need to advertise past word of mouth.

Someone should swat the person who decided to use those posters on telephone poles with a ruler on their bare, fat, hairy ass.

Maybe the Stumptown's the issue. A good neighbor would perhaps go local? I, for one, get provincial in my defense of local roasts vs the stump. Maybe someone is taking it even more personally.

Tchhh, Liberty doesn't suck! At least not during the day, when they're serving Stumptown! Plus, everyone who's ever served me there has been charming.

I don't mind their signs but Liberty sucks.

Still hoping Liberty embraces the masking tape thing -- new signature drink, masking tape art night, etc.

Advertise in the Weekly or the Stranger. Send out mailers to the neighborhood. Telephone poles are pretty unprofessional. Screams "FLY BY NIGHT".

Well the masking tape certainly lends a sophisticated and urbane look.

the "masking tape bandit" has been plaguing 15th since this spring [chs]. I'm surprised that he or she hasn't been unmasked by now ...

I know that earlier in the year, some crotchety folks on 15th were complaining about Liberty signs on lightpoles. They thought flyers made the neighborhood look low-class or something.
