The Jake Locker Era Begins Tonight

locker.jpgFootball is measured in coaching eras. The Don James era, for example. But within those are a subset of mini-eras, belonging to the team's starting quarterback. Tonight the Huskies start probably the most anticipated mini-era in team history: The Jake Locker Era.

Locker is a fast, big, good-looking, and apparently pure-as-the-driven-snow freshman quarterback who was one of the top quarterback recruits in the country.

Husky fans are calling him "The Savior" of a program that hasn't been to a bowl game in four seasons now.

Of course, the guy hasn't played a game yet--it's easy to lionize him when he hasn't yet overthrown a receiver, made a bad read on defense, or fumbled a snap.

His first game is tonight at 5pm, the Dawgs play at Syracuse.

Are the Huskies going to win? If they can keep last year's Big East sacks leader Jameel McClain away from Locker, we think they will.
