My favorite indicator that the Seahawks were going to be annihilated by the Steelers in the Super Bowl was a tee shirt I saw downtown somewhere. It was teal and it read "Teal Beats Steel!"

and, more importantly, an individual wearing teal, wandering the streets hours after the game, can get his ass kicked. why aren't the seats at safeco blue instead of green? and why aren't they sharper image massage chairs?

When the Michigan student section decided to go for the "everybody-wears-the-same-color" effect, they started with blue on the grounds that everybody owns something blue. After a few games of that, they printed off maize (aka yellow) T-shirts for everyone and it was a lot more eyecatching. The problem for the M's is that their main color choices are blue and teal. A group of people wearing teal can't look impressive.

Unfortunately the Mariners' navy blue isn't as "radiant" as Nebraska's bright red, and the effect won't be as awesome. Now, if they changed their color to Royal blue (like the Seahawks' old Largent-era uniforms), filling the stadium with that would be impressive.

I'm still mad at Lollapalooza, because the one year I got my shit together to go, 1993, the acts were Alice in Chains, Dinosaur Jr., Fishbone, and Arrested Development. They can bite me.

Did you see the Lollapalooza lineup for this year? It seems they started to turn the long trend of lameness around in 2005, bringing it into blockbuster territory for 2007.

Odd that the Mariners would name their promotion after a music festival held in Chicago. They could have gone with "Bumberblue" or "Bluebershoot" or even "Blue-squatch."
