Quit>Post Blog>Dust Off Resume

Quick, someone come up with a word for the blog you write in order to get the last word in after quitting a job. We're not even going to attempt it because we suck at that sort of thing and there's no need to burn a stick of embarrassment in here.

Here's the post-firing tell-all blog of the moment, though, lovingly written by Kevin Ken Vincent, long-time KUOW employee, freshly unemployed:

6f66.jpgKUOW has always had a hard time letting it's employees know it values them. Anyone who's worked under Wayne Roth during the past quarter-century he's been KUOW General Manager has learned his definition of a valuable employee: you are as valuable as the person whom you replaced and the person who will replace you. It's pathetic that KUOW management won't pay it's award-winning, nationally acclaimed airstaff -- who've made it the top radio station in the market -- anything better than industry-median salaries while it socks millions of airstaff-raised dollars into reserve accounts. And it's intolerable that Program Director Jeff Hansen, who might know how to make a program work well but not sound good, is hostile to advice from that nationally-acclaimed airstaff who won those awards because they do know what sounds good. I wish my former colleagues good luck as they continue to face all of this and encourage them to draw support from listeners, who've been writing to me that they're noticing and not necessarily liking what they're hearing.
