Get Out Saturday: KEXP BBQ

cheeseburger.jpgCan you think of a better way to spend your Saturday than kicking back on the lawn, chowing on a burger and listening to great live music?

Didn't think so.

Grab your shades, your sunblock and your appetite, kids. The barbecue is upon us!

Providing the tunes are Blue Scholars (with 7-piece band!), Cloud Cult, Pela, The Cave Singers and The Blakes.

We've seen most of these bands and can vouch for their fun factor, but we're incredibly excited to see Cloud Cult.

Cloud Cult are one of those bands who've somehow managed to slip through our fingers all these years. They've been around for nearly a decade, but only recently did we stumble upon their spectacular album, Advice from the Happy Hippopotamus. We'll be picking up their new album, The Meaning of 8, right after work today for sure.

2pm - 9pm // $20 presale, $25 at door // Grassy oasis behind South Lake Union Discovery Center [directions]

Check out all the details for the barbecue right here.

Cloud Cult has one of the most interesting live shows I have ever seen; The Meaning of 8 is the best album of the year.

i 2nd Patrick's sentiment.
