Seattlest Beer Spots - The Latona Pub

Ah...The Latona. Good food, good beer and good people. When this Seattlest used to live in the Tangletown neighborhood, We could often be seen sitting at the bar or in one of the chairs at a table outside near the sidewalk. If you live near hear, this is a must visit.

They always do a solid job of offering a good selection of NW brews that they rotate regularly. We have even caught a few things here that we had yet to sample anywhere else. They have about a dozen or so taps with which to keep you busy.

The Latona is currently celebrating their 20th anniversary, and they have invited local NW brewers to help them out. For a few months now, they have featured a beer brewed by a different brewery each month, made especially for the occasion. The next brewer's night is Monday, August 13 and will feature a special beer from Big Time Brewing.

What really sets The Latona apart from many beer places in town is the neighborhood bar friendliness you get here. If you snag a spot at the bar, chances are you will not have a problem striking up a conversation with the person next to you or with the bartender. This place really makes you feel at home.

Everything we have tried off the menu is worth getting. The burger is fantastic, the cheese plate is a hit and there are many healthy/veggie options. They also have one of the best hummus plates in town.

It can get pretty swinging in The Latona on the weekends, so if you are looking to relax we suggest you try to hit it during the week. Although, they used to have a great little jazz combo that would play during happy hour on Fridays....not sure if that still happens these days.

Places like The Latona make us wish we still lived in Tangletown.

I like their steamed clams/mussels.
(although they always seem stingy with the bread...)
