Don't Listen to This

We lifted this sound recording of a weird and prolific screamer at Belmont and Denny from the Seattle LiveJournal community.

Okay, this is weird, but is there anyone here who lives around the Belmont/Denny section of Capitol Hill (near Half Price Books) and knows anything about the woman who screams at the top of her lungs almost all day long?

This has been going on for about a month or more. It doesn't happen every minute of every hour, but several times of day - and night - these screams can be heard, sometimes for as long as an hour or more. I'm almost positive that they come from an apartment in the Bonneville building. They're very plaintive and can almost sound like talking sometimes. I went to bed at around 1am last night with these screams reverberating down Denny, and woke up at 8am to the sound of them.

When it's summer and the sun is out and the festivals come one after another it's easy to forget that dark things exist in the world. Luckily there's stuff like this out there to remind us.

Perhaps she's related to the "Frye Apartments" guy, often found outside the downtown Nordstrom on the corner of 5th and Pike (?). He certainly can't yell much anymore, after all these years.

She must have a routine. I see her daily on my early morning commute to work at 3rd and Pine downtown around 5:45AM.

You think she'd get horse with all that hootin' and hollerin'.
