City Council Primary Preview: Position 5

tommyr.jpgWith the primary on August 21st we thought we would bore the general public and preview the races for City Council.

First, a personal digression: Every summer we've spent in Seattle since we graduated college, we've spent working on a city council campaign. Until this summer.

Sure we haven't spent our Saturday mornings battling with staple guns, marched in any of the neighborhood parades, or had to deal with some dip-shit community leader having a hissy fit, yet somehow we have managed to enjoy the season.

What has struck us most of all is how no one in the city really gives a pig's butthole. When you're working in the middle of a campaign it's your whole life and all anyone around you seems to think or care about. Now that we are removed from that world we realize that it's all happening in a vacuum.

Yet we still find it interesting so let's get to the Official Seattlest 2007 Seattle Primary Preview Sponsored by Seattlest. We will start in the logical place, position number 5.

Incumbent Tom Rasmussen is running unopposed, he will win.
