The Mariners' Biggest Series in Four Years Starts Tonight

Not since September 2003 have the M's been in a 2nd vs. 1st division battle this late in the year.

With Adrian Beltre hitting the shit out of the ball (30 RBI in July) and the best bullpen in the league, the M's look like contenders. They can prove it a three game series with the Angels that starts tonight.

And the team's fate could well be decided by the Weaver family. Jeff goes for the M's on Tuesday, Jered for the Angels on Wednesday.

Here are the pitching matchups (all games at 7:05 at Safeco):

Tonight: Escobar (11-4, 2.91) vs. Batista (10-7, 4.48)
Tuesday: Lackey (12-6, 3.27) vs. Jeff Weaver (2-9, 5.96)
Wednesday: Jered Weaver (7-5, 3.68) vs. Hernandez (7-6, 3.85)
