'makes me miss Seattle and it's many amazing coffee shops or "espresso places". This place is definitely a little bit of Europe in Capitol Hill! The coveted balcony alcoves are a great perch from whick to view the atmosphere and eat one's crepes. I enjoyed this great review from "former barista" Rachel!

Rachel introduced me to Joe Bar not too long ago. Love the space, love the coffee, love the low-key atmosphere. I'm not a crepe kind of guy, but the smell is lovely. Aside from the doe-eyed barista (LOL, Rach;) the staff is comprised of remarkably friendly and regular people. They are genuinely pleased that you stopped in. So nice!

This place has great soups if you come during the day too... I have a knitting group that meets there on a regular basis and it is always busy. It is a fun place to hang out for sure!

I hadn't been to the Joe Bar for a few years, then I read this this morning, called a friend about lunch who turned out to be already there, and ended up having the ham, egg, and gruyere crepe, which was peppery and delicious. I love it when a plan comes together.
