Sorry, you can't use Dixie's and "good BBQ" in the same sentence.

But to your point, don't trust a food critic who bemoans the loss of a kosher beef hot dog yet thinks "hummus and stuffed grape leaves" at the ball park are just fine. Drink a beer, eat a pork dog and some peanuts and enjoy the game.

She loses all credibility when she says the food is better at the Rangers' park. There's not a chance.

the fact that they have veggie hot dogs automatically makes them better than most parks.

I visited Safeco field in early May to watch my beloved White Sox take on the M’s and I came away very impressed with Safeco. I won’t consider myself an expert since I can only compare Safeco to US Cellular and Wrigley, but I thought that Safeco offered more options and possibly the BEST BBQ sandwich I have ever had…..I am craving one as I type this!! US Cellular and Wrigley offer 3 items: hot dogs, nachos, and pizza that tastes like it’s been in the warmer for a couple of weeks. I also have to mention how unbelievable the beer selection was!!

Worst food in the major leagues? This person must be just spouting complete lies regarding the other ballparks where he or she has supposedly sampled food. I've never been to a ballpark where the food was good - its not supposed to be; its part of going to a freaking baseball game is to eat some terrible, god-awful food and drink over-priced beers. I can only shake my head at the chocolate covered strawberries and mumble something about soccer moms pussifying the M's.

Agreed - I would never get Thai food at the ballpark. But, there are so many more options than most parks it's ridiculous to say Safeco has some of the worst food. Many people obviously enjoy the Thai food(or at least stand in line for it).

I've taken a poll at work. Out of 10 people, not one here as ever had a problem finding a good hotdog at Safeco. I just don't get it. I asked a season ticket holder and he just laughed at me.

Ivar's has the salmon sandwich. I think they also have a salmon/seafood sausage?

I agree with the P-I guy. It's a ballpark--I don't want a $13 plate of Thai food. The BBQ is good, but those sandwiches also cost more than the tickets I usually buy. Actual hotdogs at Safeco are nearly impossible to come by, but what's really needed is some kind of Seattle hand food. Where are the salmon burgers?
