We got there at about 12:30--to nab 5 free tickets during the "happy hour." We took off just after three... sounds like we left at the right time.

You're right, Geoff--pouring is the perfect place to be for single folks. It looses its charm, though, when people hassle you for free pours.

I found SIB to be incredibly disappointing. I thought it was too crowded, hot, the lines were too long, the amount of beer that you got for your 25 bucks was pathetic and the crowd was overwhelmed with drunken frat boys. The beer was phenomenal I just sort of wished it was more like a wine tasting and less like Lalapalooza crammed into a small area of the Seattle Center.

I was there 3-5 on Saturday and it was a madhouse and there was plenty that I didn't get a chance to try that I had wanted to.

Some of my photos from it are online here

My girlfriend, Jeanne, and I definitely had a blast drinking and pouring beer for all the drunks.

- The beer was everything I was hoping for. The "Brewers Signature Reserve" was my favorite of the fest. While, the Sick Duck Imperial Stout was probably one of the best value beers for only 1 ticket. The mead was definitely a pleasant surprise..

- I'm an ex(and sometimes still when really drunk) smoker, but i hated the smoking at the fest. Especially when pouring, it kind of sucked to have people blowing cigar smoke in your face. It didn't bother me otherwise....just don't get in a beer line with your cigar.

- This was the first beer fest I've poured at. Lots of fun and I'll definitely do it again. I told one of my single friends it would be the perfect way to meet some women. You have cute, drunk women approaching you every few mintues; what else do you need?

- Friday was the perfect amount of people. Saturday was insanely packed.

- The dogs/cats were awesome. They were all amazingly well behaved too.

- There wasn't an abundance of food, but the mexican joint and dogs/sausage stand were both great.

- I saw another guy in a Cubs hat with a beard...I was wondering if anyone said hello to him thinking it was me.

I agree. There could have been more food available but space was somewhat limited.

The Mountain Meadows Mead kicked ass. A great last drink sort of a dessert.

In addition to being pet friendly the event was smoker friendly. I'm a non-smoker but even I broke down and bought an expensive cigar at the cigar/hookah tent.

I was there with my wife and roommate; we didn't make it to the Mead tent until the end, but I can say with authority that Chili Mead is not the way to wrap up a couple of hours in the sun at Beerfest.
