Seattlest Trivia Tonight at the Old Pequliar

einsteinsbrain.jpg If it's Tuesday at some random interval after the last time we hosted, it must be Seattlest Trivia night at the Old Pequliar pub in Ballard.

What's that mean for you? You can assemble a team of up to five and come let us pick your brain. You know it's more fun than the survey we asked you to fill out -- and you can win money, to boot.

Rules: No more than five people per team, $5 per team to play. The three top scoring teams at the end of 80 questions win cash. Someone else wins swag, and whichever team's in fourth place at halftime wins a pitcher of beer.

Seattlest James hosts. Want to know what you're in for? Check his trivia archive site, Question Setter.

The quiz starts at 8:00 sharp. Sign-up starts about 7:45; tables can be hard to get after 7:00, but with weather like this who knows? Maybe you can skate in at 7:59.

See you there.

  • That's always been up to the individual host. Since I'm old school, I'm fond of the 5 for 5 symmetry.

What happened to the 6 person rule? Did that end?

  • Hmm. I wasn't there last week, but they did that the week before, as well. Apparently the bar wants it underway early.

Probably good to get there by 7:45 then, though if I can hold off starting until 8:00, I'll do it.

Last week the quiz started at 8:00 bar time, which corresponds to 7:45 real time.

  • I suspect not -- the Old Pequliar doesn't seem to have enough speakers up in the pub, much less outdoors. But the bar staff would know for sure.

any chance that they have speakers set-up so that people in the outdoor seating can hear the questions?
