The Can't-Be-Denied Guide to Pride

prideseattle.jpg
Okay, okay. So Pride is actually going to happen. Even now, on the precipice of this extraordinary weekend celebration o' gayness, all our friends have no effing clue what's going on. If they, in all their gay glory, don't have a clue, we figured maybe you don't either. But Seattlest is here for you in these tough times and that's why we're gonna break it down all easy-like and tell you what we think is worth bothering with.

Tonight:

9:00 PM -- Toga Party at Purr, $5 Cover. Probably the lowest cover you'll meet all damn weekend.
9:00 PM -- Lesbian party at Chapel.
10:00 PM -- Military Party at Neumos w/ DJ Rob Hall, $10 Cover
10:00 PM -- Hot Dog Blessing at Bottleneck Lounge, Free. We have no idea what this is and we're too lesbian to inquire further.

Tomorrow:

7:00 AM -- 3rd Annual Body Pride Ride. Get naked and ride your bike. My god, that's way too early to get us out of bed even to look at a bunch of naked bikers.
11:00 AM -- Queerfest in Volunteer Park. For all you anti-downtown-festivities haters. The Capitol Hill party is gonna be fierce, into the wee hours of the after-dinner period.
4:00 PM -- Dyke March Pre-function. Before a bunch of lesbians walk down the street, there'll be dollar PBRs and free hotdogs and veggie dogs.
5:00 PM -- Hot Flash Dance. All you old dykes gather at Neighbours and avoid the crowds of young dykes that feel compelled to walk down the street together.
7:00 PM -- Dyke March.
7:30 PM -- Pride Cruise. What!!?? $55
Midnights -- Girl4Girl at Neumos $25. For a $25 party that starts at midnight, they better have Ellen DeGeneres hosting this thing. Wait, that would be awesome.

Sunday:

7:00 AM -- Again with the naked bike ride. Maybe if we're still awake from the midnight-starting overpriced lezfest at Neumos.
9:00 AM -- Monaco Disco Brunch. Now that's what we're talking about.
9:00 AM -- Pride Parade Tailgate at the W. Dude, yes.
11:00 AM -- The damn parade. It's scheduled for 3 1/2 hours this year. Maybe we just haven't paid very close attention in previous years, but that seems incredibly long to us. Then again, we know how the gays like it long. Oh!
12 Noon -- Pridefest at Seattle Center. Our friends swear it ruled last year. We'll have to get back to you on that.

You forgot to mention that there is also a PARADE on Capitol Hill on Saturday at 11:00am along Broadway that ends at Volunteer Park. I know... it is all very confusing this year....

Thanks for the guide Kim.

Also remember Run/Walk with Pride at Seward Park, Saturday at 9:00am. 10k or 4k, registration opens at 7:30. See www.seattlefrontrunners.org for more info.

Agreed on the way too confusing. But, in the interest of promoting dyke-related activity this weekend, a few clarifications if I may...

The Bottleneck Lounge is opening at 3pm on Saturday for its Dyke March Pre-function.

The Dyke March also includes a rally from 5-7 at Broadway & Pine. "Rally" means some people are on stage talking, singing & drumming & playing guitar, and doing Kung Fu, and some people are sitting on the grass chatting and watching.
