Ichiro Disqualifies Himself from Future Employment with the Cleveland Visitors Bureau

drewcarey.jpgIn the pantheon of great Ichiro quotes, this may launch to number one. You'll remember that the Mariners have to make up all these games in Cleveland that were snowed out. One such game is tonight. And Ichiro is not particularly thrilled about it. He told the Seattle Times (as always, through an interpreter):

To tell the truth, I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to. If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face, because I'm lying.
Wow! Tell us how you really feel, Ich!

This not only becomes our favorite Ichiro quote of all-time, it becomes our favorite derogatory quote about Cleveland of all-time...can't remember who said it, but it was some guy who'd been traded to the Indians. He said "The best part about being traded to Cleveland is that you don't have to take road trips there."

Well I dont think that Ichiro can make those remarks about Cleveland until he learns how to even pronounce the word Cleveland. And no its not Creavrand! Listen grasshopper, you should be happy your allowed to come into this great country and earn the jack you do. Which is better, Cleveland or that hole you call japan, Korea, or wherever your originally from. Hey dont want to have to go to Cleveland, go back home, im sure there would be someone else willing to take your spot. If I could be making millions playing a game, I would not complain where I have to go. Hmmm i could be like the michael jordan of PS2!

Cleveland sucks.

Ichiro was probably referring to the weather in Cleveland since the last time the M's tried to play a series there it was snowed out. Shit weather for April. However, had he fully educated himself about Cleveland he'd know to avoid it like a punch in the face for entirely different reasons, namely that it produces shit racists like the first commenter.

It's a shame Ichiro feels that way. Who knows he may have been a good fit for a contender like the Indians. Too bad his duff will be sitting in a chair watching the postseason versus actually playing in it.

I agree, he is probably referring to the weather they experienced in April

Hey "Seattle's best," you should learn the proper use of contractions, possessives and capitalization before giving English lectures there, sport.

Is there anyone more pathetic than the person that always resorts to criticizing someone's grammar rather than the content of their posting?

user-pic

Not necessarily. Especially when the original post being corrected has to do with someone trashing someone else for not speaking the language they are writing (poorly) in. And yes, that sentence was poorly constructed too!
