Gore is nothing more than your classic snake oil salesman who used to ride into town to sell to dummies. He is a fraud, another slick willy with money behind him. The total increase in the worlds average temperature for the last 100 years has been one half a degree. Thats it!! The rest of this global warming set up is to develop different ways to get into your pocket. Gore likes suckers. I think I'll go out and shoot a polar bear. Turns out their numbers are increasing dramatically and they are man eaters. The eskimos are not happy with this.

I don’t think he’s going to run, though, and I’m not sure but maybe I hope he doesn’t. Seems like he can do a lot of good doing what he’s doing. More good. I absolutely agree. For a variety of reasons I won't get into, a presidential run won't be productive and can even hurt the Democrat's sociopolitical status by widening the rift between the left and right with the environmental issue (while that's a sad commentary on our culture, it is true). I also am certain that CO2 is not the only key factor to global warming (methane, 7 billion human beings and stratospheric water vapor say hi) but that doesn't mean Gore's crusade to cut CO2 emissions can't help matters.

To be fair to Al, Earth in the Balance got him persistently ridiculed on the campaign trail in '92 as yet another enviro-wingnut, so I'm not surprised he wasn't leading with his green chin in 2000, though that certainly was part of his campaign. Here's Al in 1999: Today's announcement that 1998 was the warmest year on record is yet more evidence that global warming is real. Across America -- indeed, across the globe -- the extreme weather of the past year offered vivid proof of what our leading scientists have been telling us for some time: our climate is changing. The withering drought, deadly heat waves and devastating floods were a sobering taste of what future generations will endure unless we take steps to reduce greenhouse gas pollution.
