Segway Mom--The Director's Cut
A couple of days ago we ran this photo, with the caveat that it could well be a fake. A friend, who works at the Pacific Northwest Ballet, saw the photo being taken, assures us that it's not:
I wanted to let you know that the segway mom photo was taken by my co-worker. Segway Mom was crossing Mercer directly in front of the ballet and we all saw her. [My friend] ran out to get a good angle. So enough of this "supposedly genuine" crap - I have seen this with my own eyes! She was kind enough to pass along the original, uncropped photo.

I was in Montreal last summer and saw a small trend of the adult pushing the stroller while wearing roller blades. Seems like a good idea.

"I'm sorry, officer, my foot slipped off the brake".

I am DYING to hear her side of the story...do you think she reads this blog? Will Segway Mom ever get to tell her side of the story?

My guess is that she was dropping her kid at daycare and then continued on to whatever job she uses the segway to get to.

This photo is a fake. The tech blogs have already decided that.

I downloaded this pix and blew it up. I encourage all of you to do the same. It is a total mis-representation. Look carefully at the shadows under the strollers front wheels and the segs wheels. Then look at the strollers rear wheels (no shadow at all). Plus look at the error in cloaning onto the white stripe in the road where in error they removed part of the stripe. It's a phoney attempt to place seg gliders in a bad light and needs to be exposed.

Jim,
You are an idiot.
