Oh Sasquatch, You're Just So Beastly

harryandthehendersons.jpgWe saw it first in this month's Seattle Sound magazine, but then we misplaced it somewhere, so we grabbed the current Stranger and -- ah, there they are: The stage times for all the performers at this weekend's Sasquatch Festival along with the inevitable, unavoidable conflicts that occur at all festivals. They did a pretty good job of staggering the times, but there are still some "What do we do?!" moments.

We know we're going to see electro-country-boys, Blitzen Trapper at 12:00 and then of course headlining acts Arcade Fire and Bjork are givens, but everything in between has us in a bit of a state.

Do we see local hip hop man Gabriel Teodros or Brooklyn pop-rockers The Hold Steady? (We're leaning toward Gabriel Teodros on that one). Thanks to Seattlest Audrey's depressing news, we know we can see Grizzly Bear, but the big question for us is Neko Case or Viva Voce. We'd drink Neko's bathwater, but we've seen her before and Viva Voce promises to be a lively show. Then again, it's Neko Case at the Gorge! Her country-noir, americana sound surrounded the by the picturesque landscape of the Gorge -- what could be better than that?

What about you? Any conflicting set times driving you crazy?

Definitely see the Hold Steady. GO played the KEXP BBQ. Singer has an incredible stage presence (Freddy Mercury came to mind). These two days could be smooshed into one good day of music. Hopefully, next year the booking will return to form.

Haven't seen Ghostland yet. Heard great things though and it's on the agenda!

jack, Have you seen Ghostland Observatory live before? That should be circled in ink. My advice is to see Viva Voce and then use the forty minute break to drink two $8 beers before Ghostland hit the stage. Enjoy the festival.

Neko brought down hail and evil spirits with her set last year....how can you miss that again?!
