I love that picture. Plus over 100 comments on the LJ thread. Lol.

 

"...the top 100 high schools in the country"

These are bogus rankings, based on a ridiculously simplistic formula: (number of students)/(number of students who take AP -- or similar -- exams).

Offering advanced courses is, of course, a good thing, and a predictor of school quality. But proclaiming the top 100 based entirely on these numbers is ridiculous.
