Today's Target: Justin Germano

justingermano.jpgVitals: Justin William Germano, 24 yo RHP. Born in Pasadena, California. 6-3, 205. 2-3, 5.71 career. 1-0, 0.69 in 2007. No salary info.

Arsenal: Germano's a sinkerballer--he'll throw that pitch lots. He also mixes in a fastball.

Recent Battles: Germano's never faced the Mariners.

Our Best Weapon: George Costanza rule: Whatever the M's did against the last sinkerballer they faced, Chien Ming Wang (when they didn't get a hit until the 8th), they should do the opposite.

The Internet Says: When I Googled "sinkerballer wang", Google asked me "did you mean tinkerbeller wang?"

King Felix (2-1, 2.57) goes for the M's. Gametime is 1:05 at Safeco. It's on KSTW-TV (Ch. 11), KOMO-AM/1000 (in English) and KDOW-AM/1680 (en espanol)

Agreed--the headline in the Times was "Hernandez bested by Padres rookie" or something like that.

With Ibanez and Sexson out/hitting like crap, our order has no consistent power threat. It's awful, and there's no easy fix. Maybe they bring up Balentien to play OF while Ibanez is hurt? They need power in the lineup desperately.

Whats up with our bat support? My goodness. We absolutely own Maddux yesterday, and today? What the heck man! I'm sorry and all, but the Mariners official site states "Hernandez doesnt have the right stuff"... yes, blame it on the pitcher, because if he didnt allow the Padres to score, we would have won right? Mariners press needs to start pointing the Mariners' shortcomings at the batters, and the lineup, our lineup should be tweaked by the skipper more often. And its good to see Richie "DP" Sexson, the 60million dollar wonder sitting.
