It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

As previously mentioned, it's Cheese Weekend! The Seattle Cheese Festival is now in its third year at Pike Place Market, and this weekend will be our third time in attendance. From the amount of growth we saw between years one and two (in both vendors and audience), we're expecting that this year's event will be bigger than ever. Sure, there's educational cheese lectures and cooking demonstrations and a cheese-themed scavenger hunt for the kids, but what we're there for is the grand cheese showcase, along the market's main thoroughfare. That's where the vendors from all over the country, as well as the world, will be handing out samples of their creamy/stinky/sharp/gooey/yummy wares.

Here's how we do the fest: We always start out whole-hog at the first few booths, trying samples of every cheese available and gorging ourselves on our favorites. This doesn't make for a good long-term strategy, as about half-way through the booths, we start feeling fromage-induced nausea. But we forge ahead, albeit a little more selectively, only choosing to try those cheeses that look especially promising. Then, utterly bloated, we go home, take off our pants, and nap. We fully expect that's how things will go down once again. And we can't wait.

Even though this weekend's weather forecast may not be the best, we will still be there eating ourselves sick on all the free samples. Join us, won't you?
