Eat a Pizza, Save a Life (Of a Poorly-Managed Basketball Team)

National dining correspondent Kyle Anderson has the scoop on a great place to stuff yourself this afternoon

While Seattlest long ago gave up hope that the Sonics will stick around, who doesn’t want to see Detlef Schrempf serve up some pizza?!

Sport Restaurant and Bar had the marketing savvy to combine everyone’s favorite holiday, National Pizza Day (evidently the brainchild of Papa John, the Godfather, and Little Caesar) with a “Save Our Sonics and Storm” rally.

Detlef Schrempf, Jack Sikma, Kevin Calabro, Jeff Nelson, and others will be dishing out pizzas with all sales going towards saving these beloved sports teams. We’ve seen what Nellie can do to a groundskeeper now let's see what he can do to a pepperoni pie!

The celebrities will be working lunch (11:30 AM – 1 PM) and dinner (5 PM – 9 PM) while Jim McIlvaine and Wally Walker will cover the squeeze shift.

Sport is in Fisher Plaza, 140 4th Avenue North.
