Explosions in the Sky Inspire Weeping, Then Lots of Cursing

Read about our hardships and get the recording of the show after the jump.
So here's where the woe begins (although we admit it's more inconvenient than woeful). While taper Jayney Wallick and her non-sharing ways got some press last week, our taping hero is Brian Connolly, who not only tapes shows, but shares them with the world via his site, iamserio.us. Not only did he tape Monday's show, he dedicated just shy of a week of his life to the band, also recording their shows in Eugene, Portland, and Vancouver. We saw his taping rig set up and waited for the recordings to pop up to share them with all of you.
The recordings went up, but Brian posts his recordings in FLAC format, which preserves sound in full fidelity, at the cost of large file size and mp3 player compatibility (no, FLAC files won't work on your iPod). Looking to convert the files, we installed some shady software that certainly worked, but not in converting the files, but in completely hosing our main computer. After hours of troubleshooting, we had no option but to fully reinstall Windows. Lame. So very very lame (yes, we are kicking ourselves over our shady software installing dumbassery). In any case, that's the reason for the delay, since getting up and running again was a bit of a pressing matter.
Once that was done, we found some simple software to perform the conversion to mp3, and finally got the files uploaded. So here's Monday's recording in all of its glory. Listen and enjoy (again if you were there).
If you're looking to perform the same conversions with other iamserio.us recordings, here's what we used (they're free and won't make your computer explode):
FLAC - First, you decode the FLAC file to .wav, a really big sound file.
winLAME - Second, use this to convert the .wav files to mp3 format. Once completed you can delete the .wav files.
