So What's Up With Seattlest Trivia, Anyway?

brainparts.jpg The quick answer: there is still Seattlest Trivia at the Old Pequliar. But now it only comes around every five weeks or so.

After Seattlests Seth and David hung up their quiz caps, a number of people signed up to join the quiz-hosting rotation at the Old Pequliar. (So for now, no slots are open.) Regular players NAMBLA debuted as hosts this past Tuesday with an excellent quiz, and they'll be doing it again.

Next week, Naomi hosts -- she's not a regular player at the OP, but she plays at Cooper's, and she's hosted a quiz night in Quito, Ecuador. And we're pretty sure she's the same Naomi who's a fresh voice on Metblogs.

After that? Regular player with an irregular team name Russ hosts, then Laser Rocket Arms the following week, the Fuckin' As (or at least some of them) the week after that, and then it's back to Seattlest James on May 29.

In the meantime, however, we're going to question authority. Tonight we get to pepper Greg Nickels with incisive yet completely unimportant questions at a special fundraiser quiz night for the mayor. If you want in on the action, get to King Street Bar and Oven in Pioneer Square by 6:00 -- and be prepared to fork over $25 a person to play the quiz.

Yeah, it's steep, but you get the honor of potentially brain-wrestling Greg Nickels into submission. It's a fundraiser. Bonus: rumor has it that former mayor Charles Royer will be there as well. If you're planning on going, RSVP to Thomas Pitchford at (206) 364-2344 or tpitchford5@comcast.net.

Otherwise, if you know of any Rainier Valley bars that want to start a trivia night (Columbia City Ale House, anyone?), let us know.

It's a fundraiser for whom? Seattlest? Charity? Nickels' campaign?
Thanks

"Politicians always need money," as Seattlest David said. It's for Nickels. Not charity, not Seattlest, not Little Miss Seattlest's college fund.

There will be prizes, but the entry fees are going into politics.
