Cook the Books

Old-timey electro archivist duo The Books bring their admixture of acoustic folk and found sounds to Neumo's tonight. There will be finger-picking, banjo-plucking, and sample-triggering galore. Nick Zammuto and Paul de Jong ensure that the varied instrumentation remains equal in their sound, with neither the digital nor the handmade dominating; instead, The Books thread it all together into a rich aural and visual pastiche. We're so there.

As a sample of what to expect tonight, check out this clip from the San Francisco show a couple days ago.

Tickets are still available: $12, doors 8pm, 21+.

That looks like a neat-o show, i heart the video! it has a Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players vibe to it.
